What’s coming up at daycare

  • Sign-up list

Cake list for the summer party

Who bakes what? Parents add their cake and see what’s already covered – so you don’t end up with five marble cakes.

Example: Ideas: sponge cake, fruit cake, muffins – Anna brings marble cake, Ben muffins.

  • Volunteer list

    Helpers for the summer party

Setup, coffee stand, clean-up: every task has its places, and once it’s full it takes no one else.

Example: Coffee stand 2–4 pm: 2 of 3 places taken.

  • Find a date

    A date for parent night

Three evenings to choose from, parents answer Yes, No or “If need be” – the best date is at the top.

Example: Tuesday, 7:30 pm – 14 of 18 can make it.

  • Appointment slots

    Development talks

Offer 30-minute meeting slots – each family books exactly one, no slot is ever taken twice. Only you at the daycare see who comes when.

Example: Monday, 2:00–2:30 PM: booked · 2:30–3:00 PM: free.

Privacy for daycares: what Polls stores

For an institution, what matters is which data is collected. With Polls, it is only the poll itself and the names and answers parents enter.

Read the privacy policy

  • Parents need no account, no app and no email address – a first name is enough
  • By default, only the person offering the slots sees who booked which one
  • No stored IP addresses, no ads, no trackers from other companies
  • Hosted in Germany, only technically necessary cookies
  • You can delete the poll yourself at any time – otherwise it disappears on its own 30 days after it expires

Frequently asked questions

More questions are answered in the Help.

Do parents need an account or an app?

No. Parents open the link in their browser and enter a name – a first name is fine. Polls never asks for an email address.

What should a daycare rather not ask for?

Anything you don’t need to get organized. Health details, individual children’s allergies or addresses don’t belong in a poll that everyone with the link can see. A first name is enough for the cake list; for development talks you can ask for the child’s name.

Can our daycare simply use Polls?

That is your institution’s decision. If your provider has data protection rules, check with your management or data protection officer first. The Polls privacy policy covers everything they need to know: which data is collected, where it is stored and when it is deleted.

How do we reach parents who aren’t in the parents’ group chat?

With a poster on the notice board: Polls creates a printable one with a QR code on the manage page. Scanning it with a phone opens the poll straight away.

Can parents change their answer later?

Yes. On the same device, at any time while the poll is running.
