What’s new
What has changed in Polls recently.

Improved
- The privacy policy now names exactly which steps the visitor statistics count and what is sent with them.
- The home page now also mentions school as a place to use polls.
New
- When finding a date, one tap copies the first day’s times to all days.

- After creating a poll, you can share the link straight from Polls on your phone.
Improved
- “New poll” now sits at the top of every page as a clear button.
- The privacy policy describes our own visitor count – no cookies and no stored IP addresses.
- After your first answer, you learn what signing in by email gives you.
- The home page is shorter and shows with one example how Polls works.
19 more improvements
- While you answer, only a slim bar covers the screen, and the poll thanks you after saving.
- Half-finished answers survive switching to another app.
- If your name is already taken in a poll, Polls tells you before you save.
- In sign-up lists, you see right away when someone is already bringing the same thing.
- In volunteer lists, you learn if a slot filled up in the meantime.
- Once a group poll is closed, its result is stated in one sentence.
- When creating, all four poll types fit on a phone screen at a glance.
- When creating, messages only appear on fields you could already fill in.
- Removed ideas, slots and options can be brought back right where they were.
- On the manage page, results move to the top as soon as someone has answered.
- The per-person overview of a date poll can be read without relying on colour.
- Sign-in links can no longer be blocked by empty submissions, and typos in the address are caught.
- If you open a sign-in link twice or on another device, the page tells you what happens next.
- After signing out, “Back” no longer shows your polls.
- Before you delete your account, it says clearly what happens to your polls.
- “What’s new” is more concise, and new features come before improvements.
- In the imprint, you can tap the phone number and email address directly.
- The privacy policy has a table of contents, linked cross-references and a one-click opt-out from the statistics.
- The German word for group polls is now spelled correctly everywhere.
Earlier changes
New
- On the management page of a date poll, a bar per date shows how many said yes, maybe or no; below it an overview shows who answered what for each date.
- With the admin link you can edit a poll afterwards: change the title and description, add or remove dates, options and slots, adjust places and maintain the ideas of a sign-up list.
- Date polls can offer several times per day, such as Saturday at 10 am and 6 pm; each becomes its own date that everyone votes on.
Improved
- Polls has a new look: every page sits as a white sheet on a light background, main actions and selections stand out in dark, and the footer is a single line.
- Polls has a new logo: three result bars with the leader on top – in the page header, as the browser icon and as the app icon.
- The home page is new and calmer: the four poll types sit one below the other as four example questions, each with a small preview, and lead straight to creating one.
- The management page shows results to fit each poll type: the best date, the leading option, open ideas or taken places sit right at the top.
- When creating a poll, options sit on compact rows and a single switch allows multiple answers.
- When creating a helper list, each slot sits on one compact row and you set its places with minus and plus.
- In a helper list you pick your slots first and then enter your name; each slot shows its places as dots and who is already in.
- In a poll you tap your choice first and then vote with your name; each option shows its share as a quiet fill behind the row.
- The management page puts sharing first, shows deleting as a quiet action on each row and gathers closing, comments and deleting in one settings list.
- Sign-up lists are now a single list: each idea shows who is bringing it, otherwise “Bring it”; you pick first and then add everything at once with your name.
- When creating, you only see what almost everyone needs: ideas for sign-up lists are added as separate tags, and the description and more settings open when you want them.
- Date polls are much more compact: you answer right away and add your name afterwards, a shared time is shown only once, and who said what opens when you need it.
- When creating, you now just pick the poll type – no templates, one tap straight into the form.
- The German names of the poll types are now the everyday ones: Mitbringliste, Helferliste and Abstimmung.
- Sign-up lists show what’s still missing at the top – one tap adds it – and below it who’s bringing what, grouped by idea.
- Every page now carries its language consistently in the address – /en for English, /de for German – and switching languages remembers your choice directly.
- All pages now share the same width, and when creating, a separate preview step shows the poll as large as the others will see it.
- The home page opens in German if your browser prefers German; if you switch to English in the footer, it stays in English.
- When creating a helper list, empty rows at the end are dropped quietly, the place total counts only named slots, and the preview shows how many places across how many slots the list has.
- When creating a date poll, the preview shows the real date list, every time slot has a clear name, and the time is its own step below your selection.
- In a date poll, the preview and your selection appear in time order, a short switch sets how times work, and empty extra times are dropped quietly when you continue.
- When creating a sign-up list, each idea has its own row, the question for participants comes first, and the preview shows the list exactly as the others will see it.
- When creating a group poll, screen readers read out the options in the preview, “Undo” sits right below the list, and before creating you learn that results show without names and that the admin link is shown only once.
- When creating a group poll, the preview shows that guests enter their name to vote, the option fields are wider, and error messages fold away smoothly as you fix them instead of making the page jump.
- A removed row now stays folded in its place while creating and can be brought back right there, and a pasted helper list takes places like “Grill (3×)” straight from the text.
- A date poll now states its result in words: the best date sits on top, and every date shows a bar with “5 of 6” and who can’t make it.
- The result of a date poll now sits calmly on white instead of in a dark block, with a small label still marking the best date.
New
- If you like, keep your polls with your email address – no password – and find them again under “My polls” on any device.
- Sign-up lists can say what’s needed: the others tap an idea to add it and see what someone is already bringing.
- Polls is now available in English and German, with a language switcher in the footer.
- Dates appear in the poll’s local time, with a note about your own local time.
- When finding a date, you pick the days on a calendar – all day, at the same time or with a time per day.
- Creators can allow comments below their poll and moderate them.
- Polls expire automatically and are deleted completely some time later.
- Shared links show a preview with the poll’s title in messengers.
Improved
- Date polls show each date as its own row with a calendar sheet, a row of dots for the answers and the names behind them. The best date stands out at once and moves as you answer.
- Sign-up lists show their question right at the top, and newcomers enter their name and entry in one step. Comments now sit in their own section below the poll.
- Header, content and footer now line up. When creating a poll on a computer, the preview of what the others will see stays next to the form.
- Creating a poll now has its own address per language: /create is English, /de/create German – shared links always open in the same language.
- Volunteer lists: places can be adjusted with −1 and +1, the total shows below, and on a computer the rows share one column header instead of their own labels.
- When creating a date poll, each day already shows as the finished date with its time, plus a preview of how the others will answer.
- Group polls start with two options, a pasted list is split across the rows, Enter jumps to the next one, and a preview shows how the others will vote.
- Volunteer lists: removed slots can be brought back, duplicate names and invalid places are flagged right at the field, and a preview shows the cards the others will see. Car pools now talk about cars and free seats.
- Sign-up lists can ask your own question instead of “What are you bringing?”, and while creating one you already see what the others will get.
- While creating a poll, hints now appear right at the field, all at once, and disappear as soon as they’re fixed. Date polls start as all-day; Polls asks for a time only after you pick the first day.
- Each poll type now has its own address while creating, such as /create/takeover. Reloading keeps the chosen type and everything you entered.
- Actions are now clearly recognisable buttons instead of text links – from occasions to “Remove” and “Sign out”.
- A new poll starts with what’s coming up: an occasion fills in the type and suggestions, and everything else fits on one page.
- Larger tap targets, a fixed name column in the date grid and keyboard support in the creation wizard.
- Polls you’ve started stay put if you switch to another app in between.
- The home page takes you straight to the right poll type with one tap.
- Your participation stays saved in this browser for a year.
Fixed
- In English, an occasion’s suggestions no longer appear in German, and pages no longer flash German text while loading.
- Days in the past can no longer be added as dates.
- Error pages explain in plain language what happened and what to do next.
New
- First release: find a date, sign-up lists, volunteer lists and group polls – no sign-up, simply shared by link.
- With the admin link you see the results, close or reopen the poll and remove individual answers.
- Privacy-friendly from the start: no IP addresses in the database, no tracking, no external services.
